Can’t wait until Halloween to show off that spiffy costume you got for your little one? Well on Sunday October 25th from 12-6 the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is having a Ghouls and Gourds event.

Ghouls and Gords at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
I was walking down Myrtle the other day when I saw a poster for it – and I’m so glad I did. This one looks like it’s jam packed with all kinds of fun stuff: There’s music all daylong including a drum circle and costume parade. There’s a flea circus, craft workshops (make your own leaf rubbing, make your own egg shaker, mask making,) giant puppets, temporary bug tattoos, and SO much more!! Check out the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website for all the info.
Still not sure what to do with your little one on Halloween? How about the festivities at Still Hip in Clinton Hill?
When: October 31 11am – 6pm
Where: Still Hip (283 Grand Avenue)
What:
- 11-2 face painting
- 11-3 – portraits by Orrie King
- 1pm – Rolie Polie Guacamole
- 2pm – Let’s Dance Brooklyn performance
- 3pm – Pistachio: A Brooklyn Girl Made From Trash
- 4pm – Grand Avenue March of the Costumes!
- 5pm – LIG funk band
So dress up your little one in their costume, and go out and have some fun! Not down for Still Hip? Check out the Habana Outpost Halloween Party – or hit both! And don’t forget a new Kids clothing and Toy store is opening on Halloween in Fort Greene. I know I will be checking that out!
The Mini Social just sent out mail that Mullins Square Halloween Costumes are on sale. I just went to check them out, and they are super cute! And lots to choose from. It seems like they are all $16 or $17 – not bad!
