Ah – June is here – and that means it’s wedding season! I know we’ve got a few on the calender for this summer, most notably my brother, in the end of July. I wanted to find something cute for Cameron to wear that wasn’t going to be too hot or uncomfortable. I turned to Etsy – my go to place for creative and cute clothes for Cam. I found some great options:

Etsy seller - pumpkingirl
This tie tee is made by Etsy seller pumpkingirl. You can get a tee or tiesie (onesie + tie) in a variety of sizes, with a variety of ties. I even emailed the seller to see if she would make me a custom one to match what the guys in the wedding are wearing. She said yes – SCORE!

Etsy seller - ShockNRoll
The Tuxedo t shirt is a classic. This style is made by Etsy seller ShockNRoll. Available in sizes 12 Months 24 Months, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5T.

Etsy seller - pillowfightdesigns
A different take on the tuxedo shirt by Etsy seller pillowfightdesigns. You can get this shirt in blue and pink as well. I like the plain white and black because it’s not going to clash with anyone’s wedding colors.

Etsy seller - WeChooseJoy
Another cute tie tee option from Etsy seller WeChooseJoy. Be sure to check out their shop for more tie options.

Etsy seller - lamourdebebe
If you want to go the actual tie route – check out these ties from Etsy seller lamourdebebe. Pair them with a polo or button up for a sophisticated and adorable look. Be sure to check their shop for more tie options.
I hope the moms out there with baby and toddler boys have found some inspiration – I know I have. Thanks to Etsy for bringing us all these options!
Don’t worry moms out there with little girls – I’ll round up some cute finds for you too!
Etsy was my go to spot for Cameron’s winter hats this year – and he got so many compliments! It’s nice to have a hat that is a little unique I think. So, with the weather turning to spring (thank goodness) it’s time to start thinking sun protection for our little ones – which means a nice sun hat! Of course, I thought of Etsy again. Here’s a few that I found – but there are lots more. I’m sure you can find the perfect sun hat for your little one.
These first two come from the worthygoods shop (FYI, I liked pretty much every one of their hats!):

This hat is reversible - I am loving both sides

A less traditional sun hat - but I love the attitude
And now something for the ladies – these come from the blissfulmoments shop:

perfectly pink and adorable

I am a sucker for an orange flower
And now back to the boys:

This one is also reversible - more planes on the inside

This baby is ready for a 4th of July BBQ
Don’t see one you like, or want to check out more options? Then take a look at this search for “baby sun hat” on Etsy.
The creators of BKLYN Yard Kids clothes wrote me recently to ask if I would do a little write up on their items. After looking over their adorable clothes and learning more about them I was more than happy to do so.
Brooklynites Michelle Zuluaf and Nicole Keating have created their own Brooklyn inspired clothing line, and are donating some of the proceeds of the sales to charity. This season they have decided to donate 10% of sales to H.E.L.P (Haitian Education & Leadership Program,) An organization providing scholarships to top high school graduates that could never afford an education. BKLYN Yard has also donated to the American Cancer Society during the 2009 holiday season and to DonorsChoose.org
So, that’s the “feel good” stuff… now on to the “look good” stuff. These clothes are super cute! Here are a few of my favorites from their Etsy shop – click on the image to take you to its page on Etsy:

Swipe for Me
They have a onesie version of this design for the little ones. It’s called “Catch you on the train.” This one is totally my favorite…. Cameron loves to take the subway – doesn’t matter where!

I Bike Breukelen Hoodie
For the little bike messengers out there, this hoodie will keep them cozy.

Spread Love It's The Brooklyn Way
Sometimes I wish I had a little girl… the fashions are just so adorable. Love, love, love this sweatshirt.

Breukelen Long Sleeve onesie
And a cute long sleeve onesie, so even the littlest Brooklynites can represent!
Take a look at the rest of the BKLYN Yard shop on Etsy, visit their website, and check their blog to learn and see more.
A week ago I took Cameron on a trip to Fairway, and tragedy struck – we lost his super cute Car hat I had bought from Etsy. Sad as I am, the upside is that now I get to go hunting for a new winter hat for my little one. The other Etsy posts I’ve done have been so popular, so I decided to share some of the new cute baby hats that I found while on my quest to replace Cameron’s lost hat. Click on the image to view the page in Etsy.

This monster hat is made by the same person who made Cam's Car hat. Great quality, and super cute!

I just love the delicate flowers on this baby girl hat

This one is sure to make people smile

I'm a sucker for anything involving kitty cats!

I think this one is so adorable - and fleece lined!

Keeping your little girl's ears nice and warm.... and adorable too, of course
By the way, one of the great things about shopping on Etsy is that the items are hand made. Often I find that the sellers are willing to work with you regarding small changes and sizing so you can be sure to get the perfect item for your baby. Happy shopping!
We’re off for a few days to visit my family. I might post, if I have time… but in case I don’t, I wanted to wish everyone Happy Holidays!!
That’s the holiday card we ended up getting from Etsy. It was a big hit!
This year I really wanted to do a holiday photo card featuring Cameron, so I turned to my new favorite place to shop, Etsy. There are SO MANY to choose from – it’s great! Check out these search results for “holiday photo card” to see what I mean. Most of the sellers seem to have digital files they send you once your picture and text is inserted (mine even let me change the card text a little to suit my needs). You take the file to Walgreens (or someplace like that) where you can print them out, or in some cases you can have the seller do the printing for you – which is what I opted for.
Here are a few samples of the cards I was looking at as well as links to the shops of the sellers, so you can see even more options.

Links to the shops of the card sellers: Chase and Cole (card 1) Luke Commasara (card 2) and Lil Sprout Greetings (card 3). And the shop where I got my card from (I’m not telling which one!) Elan Ink.
I’ve been struggling to decide what to do regarding Cameron’s poor little freezing fingers. He is constantly taking off his socks, shoes, and hats, so I didn’t have much hope that anything on his hands would stay there more than 5 minutes.
I saw a post awhile back on Celia’s blog Chic Squirt about Stonz Wear baby booties, and while exploring the site I acame across their Mittz. The website claims they will stay on! And the design looked promising. So I asked for a pair (along with some booties) for Cameron’s birthday, and was happy when some arrived in the mail. We haven’t broken out the booties yet, but we’ve been using the mittz and they do indeed stay on! They ones for kids under 2 don’t have thumbs, which is a key feature. Not only does it make them easy to put on, it makes them hard for Cameron to get off. I thought he would be annoyed, but he totally didn’t seem to mind! Plus his fingers were nice and toasty.

Cameron's new Mittz + car hat from Etsy
The post I did on Cute Winter Hats from Etsy has been one of the most viewed on the blog so far – so I decided to do another one, and this time I’ve also included some adorable mittens too since I got an email from a visitor asking for some recommendations. Here we go – each picture links to the product on Etsy:

The Weekender - flannel lined fedora
This baby fedora is for my friend Tiffany, and her son Jax who is currently rocking a Kangol inspired cap. I think this one is right up their alley!

Angora Infant Wool Pilot Cap- Argyle Deer, size 12 months and up
I’m a sucker for Argyle, so I instantly loved this hat. Plus the tie string makes sure it will stay put!

Winter Newsboy cap and Fingerless Gloves Set
Love the newsboy cap, but this is more about the fingerless gloves – genius! (You can get the gloves separately if you like).

Super Chic Adorable Arm Wamers
Still on the Arm Warmers tip – these are so long they stand a good chance of staying on! Pull them down low for some finger coverage….

boy knit hat with fire truck applique
Cameron is totally into fire trucks, so this might be our next purchase….

baby or child's knit mittens. You choose color
….and why not get some mittens (from the same seller). Thumb less, for easy usage. You pick the color!
FYI, from the first post I bought Cameron both the Baby Bear Beanie as well as a Little Lids Cars hat (not pictured in the first post, but other designs from this shop were featured). I am loving them both, and we get tons of compliments!
A mommy friend sent me email recently saying that her sister who lives in Maine has a friend who just launched her own line of hand made toys and children’s items called Sunhollow which she is selling on Etsy. She asked if I could hilight them on the blog, which I was more than happy to do since they looks so beautiful! Here’s a small sample of what they have to offer:

Hardwood Horizontal Stacker

Felted Crown

Hardwood Teether Rattle
The store is starting small, but she plans to add more items especially as the holidays approach. If you are looking for a unique gift for your own little one, or someone else, check out the Sunhollow store on etsy!
Holy Moly it’s cold out! I have to admit this weather crept up on me and I haven’t really gotten Cameron outfitted for the winter. So today I decided to check out Etsy.com to see what I could find in the way of unique and cute winter hats for my little one. Here’s a small sample of the ones I like (including some super cute girl ones too!):

Ava

baby bear beanie

Flapper Green and Purple

Electric Blue Bird Hat

Mr Alligator
Each image links to the item page on Etsy.com These hats range in price from $9.50-$25 – not bad for hand made items! I just typed “baby hat for winter” into the search box – so if none of these are your cup of tea, check out the rest of the selection to find the perfect hat to keep your baby nice and cozy. Also, check out Chic Squirt for Celia’s Cute Winter Hat Round Up.

Loving the new hat!
Update: I bought the Baby Bear Beanie for Cameron (I think I got the last one!) and he has been rocking it at the playground to much fanfare and compliment! I changed the link on that image to go to the shop that made the Bear Beanie – they have some other cute items as well that are worth a look.
