I am guessing I buy more products from Amazon than any other online retailer – their prices are so good – and when you take advantage of Subscribe and Save, they are AMAZING. I wanted to write a post because I think a lot of people are afraid to “subscribe” to something, or they don’t realize how many products are available at a discount.
Subscribe and Save via Amazon gives you 15% off (and in some cases 30% off) the regular price of an item if you sign up for a subscription. You can schedule your next shipment for every one, two, three, or 6 months. Don’t worry though – you can always change the time between your shipments, and cancel shipments. I set most of my subscriptions to 6 months and then just have extra items sent to me when I need them. That way I take advantage of the savings, but don’t really have any kind of commitment to a schedule. Here’s a few of the things I subscribe and save on:

Diapers! Practically every brand and every size of diapers, including overnight diapers you can usually get 30% off. This makes them very affordable – and believe me it’s the best price online. No coupons or special offers needed. You can also subscribe and save on wipes, and diaper pail refills. Also on the baby/toddler front are lots of food items, including many Earth’s Best items and Cameron’s beloved applesauce packs.
You can also find lots of other grocery items, as well as health and beauty items. I happen to love the ear plugs I found there (my husband is sometimes a snorer). They work so well I think I’ll have to give them up when the baby comes because I’m not sure I’d hear her as well as I like. You can also find skin care and hair care stuff. I recommend you browse the Subscribe and Save section – you’ll be suprised at what’s in there!
These Earth’s Best Organic Letter of the Day Cookies make a great snack or post meal treat. I was first introduced to them by a mom friend while we were having lunch at the tots with Whole Foods after a swim at the Wilson Aquatic Center. She had bought some for her daughter Lily and was kind enough to share with Cameron who gobbled them up.

C is for Cookie, that's good enough for Cameron!
I was pleased when I looked at the nutrition information to see that they are a great source of iron (9 cookies gives them 20% of their daily requirement!) zinc, and 6 B vitamins. So if you are looking for a reasonably healthy snack or treat, try these cookies. And, don’t forget that Earth’s Best website has printable coupons – they’ve currently got one for $1 off two Sesame Street products.
Earth’s Best certainly isn’t the cheapest baby food on the block, but the quality is good, and their food is organic, so I try and buy it for Cameron when I can. I found that on their website they have several coupons you can print to save yourself a few bucks. Here’s a few of the offers:

Back in early October when Cameron had his first bad cold it left him with some diarrhea. At first I thought it was just loose poops because he wasn’t eating much solid food during his sickness. But it went on and on, even after he got his appetite back. His poor little butt was suffering with some terrible diaper rash, he was having trouble sleeping, and I was getting worried.
Other than the issues “down below” Cameron was fine. His cold was gone, he was eating, and drinking plenty – so I wasn’t too concerned about dehydration, but I had to solve the problem so I referenced my fail safe, baby 411, and hit up google to see if I could find some advice from the internets.
I read that sometimes babies that are not normally lactose intolerant can become so once they already have diarrhea. This sounded kind of crazy to me – Cameron has been having milk based formula pretty much since birth – but I was desperate, and willing to give anything a try. I called up my pediatrician and asked her opinion. She agreed with the info I had read on line, so I switched Cameron to Soy formula. I thought he wouldn’t drink it because it might taste different, but he seemed fine with it. And in 2 days his poops were back to normal. Yay! I saw her this past Friday for Cameron’s flu shot, and we talked about the diarrhea. She said keep him on the Soy formula for a few more weeks, and then transition him back to dairy.

the Soy Solution!
So if any of you out there have babies with diarrhea that won’t seem to go away, try taking them off dairy…. it might be the thing that does the trick!
Cameron isn’t exactly the world’s biggest eater, so I am always struggling to think of new things for him to try. Last week I ordered some Nutri-Grain Cereal Bars from Fresh Direct, and he loved them so much he ate the entire one AFTER eating a whole container of yogurt. For Cameron, this is a HUGE meal! After reading the ingredients list, I figured I should try and find a better option, so this week I ordered some Earth’s Best Organic Strawberry Banana Cereal Bars. Yum! They are a hit.
