I’ve gone through so many sippy cups trying to find one that Cameron likes to use. First there was the Born Free one that came with the gift set. He hated it, but was happy using the handles with his bottle. I wanted to move away from the bottle nipple though, so we kept trying. Then I got one from Area Kids which was cute, but not that functional as it turned out. Next came the Safe Sippy, which lots of other moms and babies seem to like, but Cameron wasn’t too keen on it. Finally I went to PathMark at the Atlantic center looking for these little Rubbermaid juice boxes (pictured below) that were suggested by Celia. I knew Cameron liked drinking from straws, so I thought maybe he would use them. I got the round one and the square one, just to cover my bases. Today I tried the round one and he took to it right away. Finally, a sippy that works! And the price wasn’t bad either! If you can’t find them at PathMark, Amazon has them as well.

Brooklyn Junior Opening Party

You might recognize this old storefront on Clinton near Myrtle
New details were posted on Parents Around the Hill (via Fort Greene Kids) about the Kids store that is comming to Clinton Hill / Fort Greene. Check out the website and Blog for the clothing line / store named Brooklyn Junior where you can read more about the clothes and see what they look like. Super cute! Of course the store will also have some toys and accessories. I am hoping once it opens I won’t have to trek over to Area Kids for Birthday Presents…. with this place and Greenlight Bookstore, we are set!
The opening party is Halloween Night, 6-9pm. After that, regular business hours will be Tuesday – Sunday 12-6pm (closed Mondays). CLICK HERE TO GET A COUPON FOR 10% OFF!! Valid until 12/31/09. I will visit once the store is open and post some pics!
Exciting news! I just read on Brownstoner that a kids clothing and toy store is opening right in Fort Greene (Clinton Hill?) at 150 Clinton Ave (near Clinton and Myrtle) on Halloween night! Check out the article here for more info. Area Kids is pretty far from me, so I am hoping this is a good store! *fingers crossed*
New Yorkers know that the summer months can be brutal… and mommies know that we want our babies to be as cool and comfy as possible! That’s why I love Lucky Wang kimonos. They are made out of super light all cotton fabric, and they are loose fitting. If they can’t go naked, then put them in this! I got mine on sale at Area Kids (for the locals: 45 Fifth Avenue) but you can get them on Amazon too. Plus, they have their own website, and stores in the city. Check it out. Your baby will thank you!
