Mommy FTW is written by me, Betsy Good – A first time mom to Cameron, born in November 2008. I’ve quickly learned as a full time mom that it’s important to give yourself credit for those little victories in you and your baby’s life – because they all add up. So, I started this blog to share my triumphs, my favorite things, what I’ve learned, and my trip into motherhood in general. I cover both local topics to the Fort Greene / Clinton Hill, Brooklyn area, as well as general topics which apply to all moms everywhere. So, I hope no matter where you are, you can get some useful information.
For those not familiar, “FTW” is an internet acronym/slang standing for “For the Win.” As defined by Urban Dictionary:

About Betsy:
I grew up in Washington DC, where I lived most of my life until college. I went to school in Chicago, and upon graduation knew I wanted to move somewhere, but I wasn’t sure where….. so off I was to New York. Manhattan proved to be too pricey and a bit too hectic, so I ended up in Brooklyn, and eventually, Fort Greene back in 2001. I have to admit that I never felt as much a part of the neighborhood until I had Cameron in 2008. Now I walk the streets of Clinton Hill and Fort Greene every day – meeting other moms, dads, and people in general. I have come to really love it here – not only are the people so nice, but the neighborhood is wonderful for children. From the mini pool at Clermont, to all the wonderful playgrounds, to beautiful Fort Greene Park…. Cameron and I are lucky!
The internet is one of my most favorite things, so I started blogging about my life with Cameron as a way to share my experiences with other moms. I think it’s so important for moms to get information out to each other, and connect – so I hope I am helping some people out there do that.
