About Mommy FTW (Mommy For the Win)

Mommy For the Win is written by me, Betsy Good – mom to Cameron, born November 2008, and Violet, born April 2011. I quickly learned as a full time, stay at home mom that it’s important to give yourself credit for those little victories in you and your baby’s life – because they all add up. So, I started this blog to share my triumphs, my favorite things, what I’ve learned, and my trip into motherhood in general.

When I started Mommy FTW we were living in Brooklyn (Fort Greene) and I was blindly making my way through life as a first time mom. I covered child friendly things local to Brooklyn, and also wrote about what was going on with Cameron as he grew up (what foods he liked, his various illnesses). All of these topics can be found in the archives, so I hope you check them out!

Currently we live in Washington, D.C. which is where I grew up. It’s exciting to rediscover my city through my children’s eyes. I’m going to new places, and old haunts and sharing my experiences on the blog. I’m also hoping to write about motherhood the second time around – how it’s different, more challenging, more rewarding.

As my children grow up, I want to let you in on their likes and dislikes, their favorite books, their favorite foods, cool products I’ve found to make life a little easier…. So even if you don’t live in Washington D.C., hopefully you can find something useful here.

So, moms out there, I hope you learn something new from my blog, and when you smile to yourself think, “Mommy FTW!” and give yourself a pat on the back!
